A static QR code stores the destination inside the pattern itself. It's free and works offline, but you can never change it: if the URL breaks, every printed copy is useless.
A dynamic QR code stores a short redirect link (for example permaqr.nexuslayer.eu/r/abc1234). When someone scans it, our server sends them on to whatever destination you've set today. That's what makes it editable and trackable.
Because the redirect runs on the provider's server, they control whether your code keeps working. Most charge a monthly subscription and turn off the redirect when you stop paying. That's why "free" dynamic QR codes suddenly show a paywall months after you've printed them. PermaQR is priced the other way round: you pay once per code and the redirect stays on.
Yes. The printed pattern only contains the short link. Changing the destination in your dashboard changes where the short link goes, so the printed code never needs to change.
No. There is no expiry date and no scan limit. Codes keep redirecting for as long as PermaQR runs.
